VSO ICS: What's Involved
VSO ICS is a 12 week project spent working in a community overseas. It gives 18-25 year olds the chance to work on issues that really matter. As a participant, you will be working in a community organisation on issues that matter. The projects are designed with the host organisation so you can be sure that what you’re doing is really useful to them.
You’ll be working alongside young volunteers from the UK and the country where you are based, in groups of between 5 and 20. While you’re overseas you will experience living and working in a different culture. You will learn a lot about the big issues that are affecting the community you are working in, and you’ll work to make a difference.
When you return home to the UK, we will support you to carry out a project to share what you’ve learned and to encourage others to take action against poverty.
